Infopark Kochi is working on the Phase II expansion in Kerala.
The Phase II expansion aims at the creation of a full-fledged IT hub in 160 acre in the suburban Puthencruz and Kunnathunadu villages in Ernakulam district of the state at an investment of Rs 2,500 crore. Of the total capex, sum of Rs 500 crore will come from Infopark, and the rest from private firms. The Phase II will feature a promenade in the centre, with shops on both the sides. Also, part of the plant is the 10 mtrs riverside walkway, with little shops on the sides. The planned infrastructure includes a stadium, hotels and hostels for working women and housing facilities. Approximately 20 acre has been specifically set aside for commercial activities. Construction work has already begun on the first IT building with an estimated built-up space of five lakh sq ft under the Phase II. The IT building will be ready by December 2013.
