JK Paper has signed an MoU with the Myanmar Government to acquire equity and revive Thar Paung Paper and Pulp Mill in Myanmar.
The paper company has an annual pulp production capacity of 70,000 tonne and paper capacity of 15,000-17,000 tonne. JK Paper’s plan is to use 10,000-15,000 tonne of pulp in Myanmar and ship the rest to India. Currently, the company is in the process of studying the business process and will prepare a business plan in two to three months. Details on the valuation and quantum of investment will be decided soon.
