The Airports Authority of India, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority
and Haryana Urban Development Authority have together entered into an agreement
to form a JV named Chandigarh International Airport for the execution of
international airport at Mohali in Punjab.
The project is to be developed over an area of over 300 acre at Jheourheri
village in Mohali.
An MoU was signed between the Union Government and state governments on 4
January 2009 for the development of international airport, with 51 per cent of
equity share of the government and 24.5 per cent each of Punjab and Haryana.
