The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the development of Jalandhar-Amritsar section of National Highway-I in Punjab.
The CCEA approved the six laning of the project under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP), Phase-II, on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis.
The project, estimated to cost Rs 523.85 crore, is being developed by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The project cost includes the cost of land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation, and other pre-construction activities. The total length of the road will be approximately 20 km. The project covers Jalandhar and Kapurthala districts of Punjab.
