Jaya Hind Industries (JHI) has initiated the expansion of its aluminium die-casting manufacturing facility in Chennai, by conducting a ground-breaking ceremony.
Located in Thiruvallur district, the expansion will be undertaken with a Rs 200 crore investment to enhance the plant's capacity, featuring high-pressure die-casting machines ranging from 1,400 to 4,400 tonne. This will enable the production of a wide array of components, including internal combustion engine parts, electric vehicle (EV) components, and large structural castings. The facility will also undergo a significant upgrade with the addition of a new 13,000 sq. mtrs. shed to accommodate advanced machinery and expanded machining capacity. With a focus on vertical integration, the plant will incorporate processes like machining, heat treatment, and powder coating.
This expansion is driven by a strong order pipeline, serving both domestic and export markets, including global clients like Cummins and Generac, and local OEMs such as TVS Motor Company. Upon completion, the plant’s capacity will reach around 20,000 tonne per year.
