Remal Alcast has launched its new integrated aluminium billet casthouse under the brand "Remal" in Vile Bhagad, Maharashtra, marking a significant addition to India's aluminium manufacturing ecosystem.
The facility, backed by the Star Group, focuses on quality, sustainability, and advanced production capabilities. Developed in collaboration with Almex (USA) and Swastik Furnaces (India), the plant incorporates proven casting technologies to ensure reliability, purity, and precision in billet metallurgy. In its first phase, the plant has already delivered 2,300 tonne of primary remelt aluminium homogenized billets. Phase 2, expected by April 2026, will ramp up production to 4,500 tonne per month and introduce customized alloy development.
By November 2026, the plant will adopt renewable energy and advanced scrap sorting systems to produce low-carbon billets, positioning Remal among India's first sustainable billet producers. With a final capacity of 7,800 tonne per month, the facility is part of a USD 50 million investment.
