The
Jharkhand Government will soon hand over 1,000 acre government land to
ArcelorMittal to set up its proposed Rs. 40,000 crore steel project in the
state.
The
State Government has asked the steel major to deposit Rs.12.5 crore to Gumla
district administration to get the government land. The Gumla district
administration had already given a demand note to the company in this regard.
The State government has also asked the Khuti administration to expedite the
land survey work. The company has urged the government officials to fast track
land acquisition.
The
steel major had identified land in Khuti and Gumla districts for the project
that includes a 12 million tonne
greenfield
steel plant and a township. The company needs around 8,800 acre for the plant
and 2,400 acre for the township. ArcelorMittal has already got coal blocks and
