Jindal India has commissioned a new downstream steel facility in West Bengal with an annual capacity of 0.6 million tonne, established at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore.
This expansion increases the company’s existing steel production capacity of one million tonne by 60 percent. The company expects a substantial rise in sales revenue in the coming years as a result of this investment. The new facility will enhance production capacity for coated flat products by 60 percent, pipe products by 40 percent, and crash barrier products by 75 percent.
Jindal India is part of the USD 2.5 billion BC Jindal Group, which operates across sectors including energy, steel, and packaging films. This strategic move underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its position in the steel industry and catering to growing demand in key product segments.
