The Jindal Stainless Group is planning to raise the cold-rolling capacity by nearly two lakh tonne through brownfield expansion of its Jajpur facility in Odisha. The expansion will be done in phases.
Presently, the plant manufactures 4.5 lakh tonne of cold-rolled stainless steel used in industrial applications.
Phase-I of the project will begin in January 2019, while Phase-II will commence in June-July 2019.
The company, which has an installed capacity of 1.6 million tonne of flat products a year, is planning an entry into the long segment.
Moreover, the company plans to set up a manufacturing unit for long stainless steel products at its existing facility at Hisar in Haryana.
