Jindal Stainless (JSL) announced plans to invest Rs 700 crore over the coming years in decarbonisation initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint.
Key efforts include the establishment of Odisha’s largest captive solar plant, energy efficiency improvements, digitisation of the supply chain for enhanced transparency, and community development programs in education, healthcare, and skill-building near its plants. In FY25, JSL achieved a 14 percent year-on-year reduction in CO2 emissions, cutting approx. 3,18,248 tonne compared to FY24.
The company aims to build on this progress in FY26 and is committed to a mid- and long-term roadmap targeting a 50 percent emissions reduction by 2035 and achieving net zero by 2050. These measures highlight JSL’s focus on sustainable growth and environmental responsibility within the steel industry.
