Karnataka Industrial Area Development
Board has acquired 840 acres of land for setting up a Coastal Multiproduct Zone within the proposed Special Economic Zone at Mangalore
by the Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals. Another 2,000 acres to the East of
MRPL will be added to the CMZ later, it is learnt.
Around Rs.1 crore is being spent
on preparing the preliminary report, the funding of which is being done by ONGC.
The raising of capital in the future will be decided by the Mangalore SEZ.
