Hyderabad-based Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals has announced expansion plans, targeting an addition of 2,000 beds in FY26. According to CMD B Bhaskar Rao, over the next five to six years, KIMS aims to add 6,000 beds, bringing its total capacity to 10,000.
The hospital chain will focus on semi-brownfield projects to achieve this milestone. KIMS has witnessed significant revenue growth in recent years, doubling from Rs 1,000 crore in 2020 to Rs 2,000 crore in 2024. Shifting its focus from tier-II cities to metro areas, where the average revenue per occupied bed (ARPOB) is higher, has positioned the group on a rapid growth trajectory.
This strategic pivot is expected to double KIMS’ revenue within two to three years, making it a key player in the Indian healthcare sector. Moreover, its 350+ bedded super-speciality unit in Nashik may take two to three quarters to breakeven, as infomed by CMD.
