Kerala
State Electricity Board (KSEB) has decided to lay emphasis on commissioning the
ongoing hydel power projects in the State. This has been done with a view to
make power tariffs affordable.
The
State Electricity Minister, Mr S Sarma, disclosed that KSEB is in the process of
implementing 14 hydel power projects with an aggregate capacity of 1,000 MW.
These projects included large projects like the Kuttiadi Extension and
Sabarigiri renovation schemes, and a large number of small projects with
Chinese technological assistance.
