Construction on the Agriculture University–Barra-8 elevated stretch of Kanpur Metro’s Corridor-2 is advancing rapidly with the commencement of I-Girder installation. 

The first I-Girder was erected near Vijay Nagar Chauraha metro station, marking a significant milestone in the 4.5 km-long elevated section. These I-Girders, shaped like the letter ‘I’, are essential for creating crossover or track change arrangements within the Metro’s elevated structures. A total of approx. 164 girders will be installed for the crossover arrangements along this corridor. The girders are being manufactured at the Naubasta casting yard.

This development underlines steady progress in Kanpur Metro’s infrastructure build-out, enhancing connectivity and urban transit options for the city. As noted, “The erection of IGirders signifies a crucial phase in the elevated corridor’s construction.”
