The Karnataka Cabinet on October 09 approved the development of a commercial office tech park on 3.285 acres at Blueberry Hills Road, Derebail, in Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada district.
The project will be executed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer (DBFOT) basis. State IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge announced the decision, highlighting the development of survey numbers 129 and 113 for the tech park. This move aligns with Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation’s (KEONICS) broader strategy to monetise its land assets across key locations.
In July 2024, KEONICS had identified prime land parcels for monetisation, including five acres in Mysuru's Hebbal Industrial Estate, 3.35 acres on Blueberry Hills Road in Mangaluru, 37,028 sq. ft. in Hubballi's Software Technology Parks of India, and 12 acres at the Hi-tech Defence Zone and Aerospace Park in Devanahalli, near Bengaluru airport. These initiatives aim to boost infrastructure and attract private investment in Karnataka’s technology sector.
