Kirloskar Brothers has bagged a $230 million water pumping project in North Central Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan Cabinet has decided to build canals and reservoirs and a pumping system to store and release water judiciously.
Following a proposal from Kirloskar Brothers to undertake the engineering work and also bring finance from EXIM Bank of India, a feasibility study was done, and the Cabinet decided to award the contract to Kirloskar.
An MoU will be signed after the Sri Lankan Cabinet approves Kirloskar’s detailed technical and financial proposal for the water pumping project.
Kirloskar Brothers has also recently signed a deal with the National Water Authority of Peru (ANA) to help manage water resources in the Latin American country.
