Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction’s Buildings & Factories (B&F) vertical is set to enter into contracts worth approx. Rs 2,400 crore to construct hospital buildings across multiple locations in India for Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, headquartered in Chennai.
The proposals for these contracts will be presented to L&T’s shareholders at the company’s 80th Annual General Meeting scheduled for June 17. According to the AGM notice, the duration of the contracts will vary between 1.5 years and 3 years, depending on specific project requirements. These contracts are expected to significantly expand L&T’s footprint in the healthcare infrastructure sector and diversify its revenue streams.
The B&F vertical of L&T is responsible for EPC of various building and industrial facilitie, and in the healthcare domain, it offers end-to-end services including the design, construction, procurement, installation, and commissioning of medical equipment for hospitals. The initiative underscores L&T’s strategic focus on high-growth sectors and its capability to deliver specialised infrastructure for India’s growing healthcare demands.
