Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bagged a
Rs.580.96-crore, lump sum turnkey order from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) for
the 6 million tonne expansion project at its Panipat refinery in Haryana.
The order, which was bagged against international
competition, consists of a DHDT unit based on technology from IFP, France and a
1,40,000 tonnes per annum hydrogen plant based on technology from Haldor
Topsoe, Denmark. The company has also been entrusted with the responsibility of
residual process design, detailed engineering, procurement, supply,
fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning and performance testing
for this project.
L&T would be adopting innovative concepts during
all stages of the project execution. This would include IT-enabled systems
comprising three-dimensional computer aided design, advanced engineering and
simulation software, enterprise resource planning, scheduling e-procurement,
on-line construction material planning, systems and electronic communication
facilities.
The entire project has to be executed in
a fast track of 24 months.
