Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is set to expand its digital infrastructure capabilities with plans to commission an additional 18 MW of data centre capacity by the end of the current financial year.
This expansion will bring L&T’s total installed capacity to 32 MW. During the company's third-quarter earnings call, a senior official shared that 14 MW of capacity is already operational, with the remaining 18 MW set to be fully operational by year-end. The total capital expenditure (capex) investment in the data centre expansion is approx. Rs 1,000 crore, reflecting L&T’s strong commitment to scaling its digital infrastructure offerings.
L&T is focusing on design-led semiconductor chips, engaging with multiple customers, with most spending reflected in the profit and loss account, according to the Q3 earnings call. In the electrolyser business, the company has developed an indigenous four MW stack and is upgrading it to 8-10 MW, anticipating significant orders soon.
