L&T’s Hydrocarbon Onshore business (L&T Onshore) has won a large order from Petronet LNG, a joint venture of four major public sector undertakings—ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), GAIL, and BPCL.
The contract involves the construction of storage tanks at the Dahej Petrochemical Complex in Gujarat. L&T will deliver the project on a lump sum turnkey basis, which includes engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. The project features the installation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) and ethane double-wall storage tank with a capacity of 1,70,000 cubic mtrs. and a propane double-wall storage tank with a capacity of 1,40,000 cubic mtrs. It also includes handling and dispatch facilities for ethane and propane to support a propane dehydrogenation and polypropylene plant.
The project aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative to boost domestic petrochemical manufacturing.
