Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri met David Eby, the Premier of Canada’s British Columbia province, on 13 January, 2026, to discuss the prospects of LNG projects, green hydrogen cooperation, LPG imports, and critical minerals.
During the meeting, Minister Puri highlighted the growing India-Canada partnership, particularly in energy and environmental goals. David Eby, leading a trade mission to India, is set to engage with leaders in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Bengaluru. The mission aims to promote British Columbia’s business and sustainable products while diversifying the economy in response to U.S. tariffs.
Canada’s hydrocarbon trade with India saw significant growth, with further potential, as indicated in previous talks between Puri and Canada’s International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu.
