Palghar Collector Indu Rani Jakhar recently reviewed the progress of land acquisition for several major infrastructure projects, including the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train.
The review aimed to resolve remaining administrative hurdles and ensure timely completion of key corridors. The meeting focused on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail, the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, Virar-Dahanu Railway Quadrupling, and other critical railway projects. According to an official release, land acquisition for the bullet train project is 100 percent complete, with 92 percent of beneficiaries in 71 villages receiving full compensation. The Virar-Dahanu project, which is almost complete, has only minor acquisition pending. The Borivali-Virar project has also finished its land acquisition process.
“These five projects covered a total of 169 villages. A sum of ?2859.14 crore has been disbursed to the project-affected, and ?328.52 crores remain for distribution,” said the official release. Collector Jakhar directed authorities to address any remaining issues related to fund utilization, rehabilitation, and clearances quickly.
