Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MahaMetro) is on track to commission Lok Vihar Metro Station by November 2025, marking it as the first operational station under Nagpur Metro's Phase 2.
Located along the Kamptee highway on Reach 2A, the station has completed 100 percent of piling work, and casting for three major slabs is underway, with completion expected by 08 June. In total, 528 piles have been executed across four stations on the Kamptee corridor: Pili Nadi (148), All India Radio (122), Lok Vihar (140), and Golf Club (118). Meanwhile, piling is nearing completion at three other stations — Kamptee Police Station, Kanhan, and Transport Nagar (part of the Pardi corridor). Reach 2, spanning from Automotive Square to Kanhan, is split into Reach 2A and 2B.
MahaMetro reports 68 percent of pier work, 77 percent pile cap completion, 40 percent segment casting, and 26 percent span erection on Reach 2A — all critical elements for the elevated viaduct's structural integrity.
Phase 2 of Nagpur Metro aims to add 43.8 km of new tracks and 32 stations, improving suburban connectivity. Over 90 percent of the land acquisition is complete, and major geotechnical investigations are finalized to ensure strong foundation design.
