The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet, under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has approved a Rs 2,508.21 crore project for the construction, upgradation, and land acquisition of the 62.795 km-long Badwah-Dhamnod four-lane road.
This project, which will be executed under the hybrid annuity model (HAM), will enhance connectivity between two National Highways and provide better access to Maheshwar. Key infrastructure elements will include ten bypasses, five major bridges, 23 medium bridges, 12 vehicular underpasses, and several junctions. Minister for PWD, Rakesh Singh, stated that 40 percent of the project’s funding will come from the state’s Highway Fund, with the remaining 60 percent allocated from the state budget over the next 15 years.
In addition, the Cabinet approved the continuation of the ‘Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0’ schemes for the next five years, focusing on child welfare and nutrition in alignment with Centre-approved norms for the 16th Finance Commission period.
