The Maharashtra Cabinet on 08 September, 2025 approved raising Rs 2,000 crore from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation (Hudco) under the Urban Infrastructure Development Loan Scheme to help civic bodies secure matching funds for key projects.
The decision will enable Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation to mobilise Rs 822.22 crore for a water supply project, Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority to access Rs 268.84 crore for four sewage treatment plants, and Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation to raise Rs 116.28 crore for a water supply project.
The scheme aims to ensure continuity of projects under AMRUT 2.0, Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, and state-led programmes. Additionally, repairs worth Rs 4.76 crore for the Ghongha micro-irrigation project (1986) and Rs 4.92 crore for the Kanadi project (1977) in Akola district were sanctioned, boosting storage and irrigation capacity. The Cabinet also approved allotment of four hectares in Raigad’s Asudgaon to Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau at 50 percent ready reckoner rate for residential quarters.
