Airbus Helicopters has awarded Mahindra Aerostructures (MASPL) a contract to manufacture the main fuselage of the H125 helicopter.
The rotary wing aircraft will also be assembled in India, strengthening the country’s position in the global aerospace supply chain and later catering to defence markets. Industrialisation will begin immediately at MASPL’s Bengaluru facility, with first deliveries expected in 2027. The fuselages will feed into Airbus’ global network, primarily its Marignane, France site.
Wouter van Wersch of Airbus said, “This new contract with Mahindra Aerostructures is a testament to the strong capabilities of our partners in India.” Airbus already sources worth USD 1.4 billion annually from India, underscoring the rising global integration. Airbus has also partnered Tata Advanced Systemsd (TASL) to set up a final assembly line (FAL) in Kolar, Karnataka, from 2026, assembling up to 10 helicopters annually.
