Manali Petrochemicals (MPL), a leading petrochemical company and part of AM International, Singapore, has inaugurated the expansion of its Propylene Glycol (PG) plant, located in Chennai.

The facility will begin operations after receiving the consent to operate (CTO) from the Tamil Nadu State Pollution Control Board. With this expansion, MPL’s production capacity will rise by 50,000 tonnes per annum (KTPA), adding to its existing 22,000 KTPA, marking a significant step towards self-reliance in PG manufacturing.

This strategic initiative aligns with the "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" visions by reducing the nation’s dependence on imports. MPL’s expansion will not only meet the growing domestic and industrial demand for PG but also strengthen India’s global competitiveness in the chemical manufacturing sector.
