Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers (MCFL), a subsidiary of Zuari Fertilisers and Chemicals, an Adventz Group company, is planning to invest Rs 1,000 crore over the next three years to set up a brownfield facility in Mangaluru.
The facility will manufacture seven lakh tonne of phosphatics a year . The company will invest Rs 600 crore in this unit. It will implement the project at the start of 2018 and close in about 24 months.
MCFL is working on introducing natural gas as a feedstock for its fertiliser plant. It expects a pipeline, which will deliver gas from the Kochi terminal owned by Petronet, to improve by 2019.
The company further plans to invest in an ammonia, urea complex to ensure significant improvement in operational efficiencies. It is looking at investing Rs 400 crore in the ammonia and urea plants.
