Maruti Suzuki India laid the foundation stones for a multi-speciality hospital and a senior secondary school at Sitapur in Gujarat.
The company has taken up the two mega projects under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The hospital and school projects will be fully funded as CSR initiatives by the company with an investment of around Rs 125 crore over a period of five years.
Maruti Suzuki has partnered with Zydus Hospitals to set up a multis-peciality hospital in Sitapur. The hospital will be managed and operated by Ramanbhai Foundation, the CSR arm of Zydus Group. Initially the hospital will have a capacity of 50 beds which will be raised to 100 beds. The facility will come up over 7.5 acre of land parcel and have super specialization services like emergency care & trauma services, advanced diagnostic services, critical care for stabilisation in life threatening conditions, mother & child care, eye care, ENT, internal medicine, general medicine with cardiac care facilities.
Apart from this, Neurology, Urology, and Nephrology will be added in a phased manner depending on need. The hospital is expected to serve over three lakh people residing at Sitapur and adjoining villages.
The company will also set up Maruti Suzuki Podar Learn School, a senior secondary school in Sitapur. The school will be built in a phased manner, initially with primary wing followed by senior secondary school.
The company has partnered with Podar Education Network for the school project. The school will be affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education and Podar Education Network will design the curriculum.
The school will come up over 7.5 acre of land parcel comprising of primary wing, senior wing and administration block. Additional facilities such as auditorium and swimming pool will also be built over a period of time.
