Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) plans to set up a third plant at its second
facility in Manesar (Haryana). The company will infuse Rs 1,925 crore for
setting up the plant which is to have a capacity of 2,50,000 units.
The investment for the new plant will be put up for approval at the board
meeting scheduled to take place in October 2010.
At present, MSIL has two facilities at Gurgaon and Manesar. The company has
three plants, one at Gurgaon can jointly roll out 8,50,000 vehicles, while the
Manesar facility, with one plant at present, can produce 3,50,000 units a year.
The company is already investing Rs 1,700 crore for setting up a second plant at
Manesar. This plant, slated to come up by early-2012, can produce 2,50,000
vehicles.
