Medanta is planning to set up Medicity in Mohali, Punjab, with an investment of Rs 900 crore.
For the purpose, the company inked an MoU with the government of Punjab during the Punjab Progressive Summit 2013. The project will come up on 25 acre of land in Mohali.
Apart from Medanta, three other companies have each signed an MoU with the state government to set up healthcare facilities in the state. Fortis Healthcare has signed an agreement to set up a medical university and hospital with an investment of Rs 1,110 crore. The Rajan Nursing Home will set up a 500-bed hospital at a cost of Rs 200 crore. Ranbaxy has also inked an MoU to invest Rs 150 crore to expand its manufacturing capacity in Punjab.
