Medica Synergie proposes to set up five hospitals in the eastern region of
the country within the next two years at an investment of around Rs 250 crore.
Of the total investment, around 55-65 per cent will be raised through debt.
A 200-bed hospital is likely to come up in Asansol, 150-bed hospital in
Berhampore, and one each in Tinsukia in Assam and Shillong in Meghalaya.
The company on 14 April 2010 inaugurated its 500-bed Medica super-specialty
hospital in Kolkata, a green hospital which has applied for LEED certification
developed by the US Green Building Council. Currently, Medica has a hospital in
Siliguri in West Bengal and a boutique Ear-Nose-Throat hospital in Kolkata.
