On January 23 2023, Meghmani Organics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kilburn Chemicals, has announced the commissioning of the Phase-1 titanium dioxide (TiO2) plant with an installed capacity of 16,500 tpa at Dahej in the Bharuch district of Gujarat.
In December 2021, the company acquired Kilburn Chemicals for Rs 132 crore by making a 100 percent upfront payment. Subsequently, the company incurred a total capex of Rs 275 crore along with the acquisition cost and commissioned the first phase.
In Phase-2 of expansion, Meghmani Organics intends to double its capacity to 33,000 tpa with an additional captive power plant (CPP) at a capex of Rs 375 crore. The company expects the project to be commissioned by Q3/FY24.
The company is also involved in developing a multi-purpose plant with backward integration for agrochemicals with a capacity of 30,360 tpa, located at Dahej in the Bharuch district of Gujarat. The project is in the execution stage, and Meghmani Organics expects to complete the work by September 2023.
