The government has sanctioned an electronics manufacturing cluster (EMC) in Pune at an investment of Rs 500 crore.
The EMC, which will come up in Ranjangaon Phase-III. The project will be set up over an area of 297 acre of land parcel.
The proposal, approved by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is expected to attract investments of up to Rs 2,000 crore.
The Central government assistance for the project will be around Rs 208 crore. The project will create direct employment for 5,000 people. Proposals from Uttarakhand and Telangana are under consideration.
