The Metro Railway, Kolkata  has issued a tender for the appointment of a general consultant (GC) for the project of communications-based train control (CBTC) system for the existing Metro Railway North-South Section in Kolkata, West Bengal.

The selected general consultant will provide pre-construction general consultancy services, and carry out detailed study of the existing system including technical specification of the proposed CBTC system,  operational requirement for implementation and operation, detailed technical study of the additional infrastructure requirement such as modification to the interlocking and  signal control system, traction power supply and others.

Overall, the role of the GC is to assist and provide support services to the Authority on various project-related activities along with the monitoring and planning of the project progress.

The completion period is 10 months.
