The proposed Multi Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) near Pithampur in Dhar district has begun development, featuring a dedicated commercial zone comprising around 10 percent of its total 112.6-hectare area.
Valued at Rs 1,110.6 crore, the project will be segmented into multiple operational zones to support varied logistics and industrial activities. According to Himanshu Prajapati, Executive Director, MPIDC, Indore, “The possession of the proposed land has been taken and with this the development work has started in the park. The park will become a boon to the state and give a massive fillip to industrial and logistics growth in the state.”
The MMLP will provide warehousing, specialised storage, freight transport, cargo aggregation and distribution, container and bulk cargo handling, customs electronic data interchange services, and cargo scanning. Developed under a PPP (DBFOT) model, it covers 90 hectares of private land from Kheda, Akolia, Sagor, and Jamodi villages, along with 22 hectares of government land.
MPIDC has already secured land possession. A special purpose vehicle (SPV) formed by National Highways Logistics Management (NHLML), Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL), and MPIDC will oversee the project’s execution.
