Mumbai Metro Line 14, a 38-km corridor linking Kanjurmarg to Badlapur, is set to commence within a year as the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) accelerates preparation.
MMRDA has initiated the process of appointing a consultant to conduct an environmental impact study and secure clearances from the forest and environment departments. Once onboard, the consultant will facilitate the necessary approvals, allowing construction to begin within twelve months. For Badlapur residents, the line is a long-awaited solution to their current 1.5 to 2-hour commute.
With Mumbai’s Metro network expanding to 337 km across various corridors, Metro Line 14 is expected to enhance connectivity and improve travel conditions for thousands of daily passengers. The detailed project report (DPR), prepared by Milan Metro, has already received approval from IIT Bombay.
