Construction company NCC has secured the first construction contract for the Pune Metro project.
It is a Rs 499 crore bid to construct the elevated metro rail viaducts for a stretch of 10.75 km of the metro line.
Four companies namely, Afcon Infrastructure, Simplex Infrastructure, NCC, and Gayatri Projects and Major Bridge Engineering Company, as a joint venture, were shortlisted for the first construction contract.
Construction work on the project is likely to commence in a week in the Pimpri Chinchwad-Range Hills stretch.
The tender for the 7.15 km elevated viaduct of the east-west corridor will be open on 15 May, 2017. Seven companies have shown interest in the corridor from Vanaz to Civil Cour. These are AFCONS Infrastructure, TATA Projects, NCC, Simplex Infrastructures, YFC Projects, IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company, and ITD Cementation India.
