The Ministry of Railways has approved the construction of a new railway station in Bhupalpally and a bus stand near Kazipet railway station in Telangana.
Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya secured this assurance from Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw after highlighting the need for a rail link connecting Bhupalpally with Warangal, Kazipet, and Jammikunta. Bhupalpally, home to Singareni Collieries and TGGenco, currently depends on road transport for coal.
The Ministry has tasked South Central Railway with conducting a feasibility study, with a detailed report due in six months.
Additionally, a bus stand has been approved on railway land near Kazipet station. The projects aim to streamline freight, reduce logistics costs, and improve passenger connectivity, supporting economic growth. MP Kavya and other local legislators hailed the approvals as a breakthrough and reiterated support for establishing a Kazipet railway division to ease Secunderabad congestion, a proposal backed by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
