National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has proposed a 60-km Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor connecting Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, and Greater Noida. This new corridor will be independent of ongoing or upcoming RRTS projects like the Delhi-Gurugram and Delhi-SNB lines.
The project cost is estimated at Rs 15,000 crore, with trains designed for a top speed of 180 kmph. The alignment will feature six stations: Gurugram: IFFCO Chowk (Sector 29), Sector 54 (Golf Course Road), Faridabad: Bata Chowk, Sector 85-86 intersection, Noida: Sector 142-168 intersection, Greater Noida: Surajpur (connecting to Ghaziabad-Jewar Airport corridor).
The proposed line will also link to the Ghaziabad-Jewar Airport RRTS corridor, further integrating the NCR transport network. The NCRTC has submitted the proposal to the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC), seeking alignment approval to begin work on the detailed project report (DPR). A senior HMRTC official confirmed the project was recently discussed in a meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and it has received a positive response.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has asked for early stakeholder approval before DPR initiation, as most of the alignment runs through Haryana.
