The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and Konkan Railway Corporation (KRCL) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen integrated infrastructure development and explore opportunities for resource optimisation.
The MoU was signed in the presence of NHAI Chairman, Santosh Kumar Yadav, and senior officials from both organisations at NHAI Headquarters in New Delhi. This partnership aims to harness the complementary strengths of NHAI and KRCL to support India’s infrastructure growth and improve connectivity. The collaboration will focus on areas such as planning integrated road and rail infrastructure, including rail-cum-road bridges, tunnels, multi-modal logistics parks, and inter-modal hubs. It will also involve the development of common utility corridors and better coordination in complex terrains.
KRCL’s expertise in executing projects in challenging landscapes, including bridge and tunnel design reviews, slope stabilisation, and safety audits, will significantly benefit NHAI. Santosh Kumar Yadav emphasised the importance of this collaboration for enhancing efficiency and safety in infrastructure projects.
