National Highways Authority of India,
on 13 April 2006, awarded five cash contracts for highway development in Madhya
Pradesh. The contracts, valued at nearly Rs.900 crore, involve four-laning of
220 km of highways along NH-26 in Madhya Pradesh.
While four contracts valued at
Rs.702.38 crore were awarded to South Korean firm, Sang Yong Engineering &
Construction Co, one contract was given to B Seenaiah & Co (Project) Ltd.
The projects are being implemented
with financial assistance from Asian Development Bank, and are part of NHDP-II
(North-South, East-West Corridor).
