As the completion of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway approaches, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has accelerated work on related facilities, including the construction of three parking hubs on the Delhi section.
Tenders for the project have been issued, with the parking hubs set to feature amenities like EV charging stations, restaurants, and toilets. These hubs will be located between Akshardham and Loni Border, specifically in the Lalita Park, Geeta Colony, and Gandhi Nagar areas. NHAI officials say that these locations are busy with commercial activity, attracting many visitors from outside the city.
The parking hubs will help ease traffic congestion on the expressway and will be equipped with modern technology, including a digital entry and exit system and cashless payment options. "24-hour surveillance will ensure security and transparency," said NHAI officials. Additional facilities such as clean toilets, food kiosks, ATMs, first-aid rooms, and minor repair services will also be available to enhance the convenience of travellers and boost local businesses.
