NLC India (NLCIL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat for the development of large-scale renewable energy projects in the state.
The MoU was signed during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot on 12 January, 2026. The agreement, which is non-binding, outlines the development of projects in solar, wind, hybrid, and battery energy storage, with an investment potential of around Rs 25,000 crore. These initiatives will be led by NLC India Renewables (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLCIL, which aims to achieve 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
Dr. Devendra Pratap Singh of NLCIL and Bhakthi Shamal of the Gujarat government were among those present at the signing ceremony. The collaboration strengthens Gujarat's position as a renewable energy hub and supports India's goals of achieving Net Zero emissions and increasing non-fossil fuel-based power generation.
