NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan-based ENEOS Corporation to explore collaboration in the supply of green methanol and green hydrogen derivative products.
The MoU was exchanged on 10 October 2025 during the World Expo in Osaka, Japan. The partnership aligns with NGEL’s development of its 1,200-acre Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka, Andhra Pradesh, envisioned as an integrated center for green chemical production and exports. This collaboration leverages ENEOS’s demand for hydrogen derivatives and NGEL’s expertise in renewable energy and green hydrogen initiatives.
The agreement marks a key step toward global decarbonization and reinforces NGEL’s goal of achieving a 60 GW renewable energy portfolio by 2032, supporting India’s clean energy transition and commitment to achieving net-zero emissions.
