Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) has sanctioned a Rupee term loan of Rs 12,640 crore to Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company (CSPGCL) for its 2x660 MW super critical thermal power project at HTPS, Korba West.
The loan agreement was signed on 26 September, 2025, in Raipur by senior officials of both organisations. This funding will enable CSPGCL, a wholly-owned state entity with over 2,600 MW of installed capacity, to secure low-cost, long-term financial support for the timely execution of the project.
This collaboration marks a significant step toward enhancing regional power availability and strengthening railway-linked infrastructure in line with India’s energy and infrastructure goals. IRFC is expanding into infrastructure sectors with forward and backward linkages to rail operations.
