NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, has expanded its solar power portfolio with the commercial operation of additional capacities. As per a certificate issued by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) on 09 January, 2025, the second part capacity of 60 MW from the Bhainsara Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan became operational on 07 January, 2025.
This project, with a total capacity of 320 MW, had already commissioned its first part capacity of160 MW capacity on 28 August 2024, bringing its cumulative operational capacity to 220 MW.
Similarly, NTPC REL achieved another milestone with the Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) in Madhya Pradesh. The second part capacity of 50 MW commenced operations as of midnight on 10 January, 2025. This project’s total capacity is 220 MW.
These developments underscore NTPC REL's commitment to scaling renewable energy infrastructure and contributing to India's clean energy goals.
