National Aluminium Co. is
expected to submit a proposal to the government for its plans to build a $3.4
billion 5 lakh tpa aluminium smelter in the Gulf.
The location for the project is not
yet finalized but has plans to build the unit in either Qatar and Oman. The
company will hold 51 per cent in the venture and will also have a 1,500 MW power
facility and a jetty.
Nalco had appointed Engineers India
for the feasibility study of the project which will be coming up in two phases
of 2.5 lakh tpa.
