Navkar Corporation has received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from Central Railway’s Commercial Department in Mumbai for the development of a Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) at Somathane, located entirely on railway land.
This project will significantly enhance the company’s logistics infrastructure, increasing its integrated cargo handling capabilities. The new terminal is expected to strengthen customer service offerings and solidify the company's strategic position in the region. The construction will begin within three months of receiving the approval and is expected to be completed within eighteen months. The railway land will be leased for a period of 35 years. The total value of the contract is approx. Rs 63.22 crore.
This project is a vital step in improving India’s cargo transportation capabilities, in line with the Gati Shakti initiative to enhance multimodal connectivity.
