A state-of-the-art medical college and hospital is being developed in Dumraon, Buxar in Bihar, which will eliminate the need for people to travel to Patna or Varanasi for advanced medical treatment.
The 500-bed hospital, coupled with a medical college admitting 100 MBBS students annually, is being constructed on 25.38 acres of land at Haryana Farm. The project, estimated at Rs 515 crore, is progressing quickly and is expected to be completed by March 2026. Once operational, the facility will greatly enhance tertiary healthcare services in western Bihar. An official involved in the project remarked, “It will reduce the burden on major hospitals in Patna and ensure quality treatment closer to home.”
Strategically located around five to six km from Dumraon railway station, the hospital will offer easy access while avoiding city congestion. The state government has approved Rs 12 crore for a 13.5-km-long approach road to improve connectivity, ensuring smoother transport of patients and emergency vehicles.
